He has certainly tried to negotiate. He has been given a party of no through the core. He tried negotiating with Republicans for weeks on the Bailout. They tied him up for weeks with concession after concession and still each one of them voted against it.

What the GOP has taught Obama was two things:

1. The GOP will not negotiate in good faith
2. Obama doesn’t need the GOP.

and God Bless them for it.

anyway, he doesn’t need them and yet can’t even get his agenda passed.
