They never consider that it might one day be them, or someone they care about who ‘looks good for’ a crime. I’ve mentioned it before, but a wingnut once told me that even if some Death Row inmates didn’t commit the murders they were there for, they probably deserved to die anyway because the police wouldn’t have arrested them if they weren’t guilty of SOMETHING.

I really didn’t have anything to say to that. It’s Blackstone’s formulation turned on its head.

We’ve discussed this before but I think even more sane conservatives tend to lack empathy. Funny that coming from a HFA whose main thing is he has a struggle empathizing.
