re: #58 Blind Frog Belly White
Ah, Chess King. My Mom bought me a sweater at Chess King. I never liked it. I was really surprised she’d bought it for me - it had an open V-neck big puffy sleeves, and just generally did not convey the type of manly manliness that I, a shy teenage boy, wished to project.
My sister-in-law, OTOH, loved it. It looked much more at home on her.
My grandma (mom’s mom) lived with us all of my young life until she passed away. She spent a LOT of time sewing and we’d make regular trips to Minnesota Mill to buy fabric for her projects. In junior high school, I really got into wild paisley patterns so I’d go digging through the remnant piles for the craziest stuff I could find. I wish I had some pictures wearing those shirts.
