I could understand that, and perhaps it is less even than it looks as I’m driving along beside it. It looks like it is rather well maintained (there are a number of freshly poured segments, indicating that the town is meticulous in repairing it), so I was just wondering if there was some other reason besides the fact that runners are certifiably insane.

It’s easier to find those little uneven bits when running than when driving or honestly even walking. You typically find them at the least convenient time too.
