HW Bush to me is a mixed legacy. But I do think he was the last of a rare breed of Republican presidents that saw government not as the enemy. Certainly there are parts of his legacy I dislike and don’t feel should be forgotten but there are others I think he deserves credit for.

He came from big money and could have had an easy time in WWII, yet he was a combat pilot. I may disagree with nearly everything he did after that but his service was real.
