Good. There are environments for which a tot of paranoia is the best adaptation. Look at the runup to the 2016 election, and tell yourself “Never again.”

Trump was able to game the system: he counted on apathy, indifference to suppress a lot of the vote against him and third-party purists to deflect a bit more.

Now he has too many people riled up, he knows he has to lean a lot harder to pull out a win, but this time he has a lot more resources at his disposal.
