My dishwasher broke this morning. It’s the second time in 5 months and it’s only a couple years old. My old one lasted 15 years before it died.

Try calling the home office and writing letters to the CEO. We had some success with that when our Whirlpool washer conked out 3 times after it went out of warranty.

My letters stated in part that I felt it was unacceptable to spend that much money on an appliance that apparently had such a tiny window for use. Be polite but direct. Try posting something to Twitter with the appropriate hashtags. That seems to get people’s attention.

We still had to pay for some repairs, but the overall cost was reduced by interacting with Whirlpool. The build quality and lifespan of today’s appliances is frustrating beyond belief.
