That’s not what I got out of #686. The “leadership” in much of the Arab world has little of interest in giving a damn about their people and their freedoms. As in Eastern Europe, it’s easier to blame an external foe (usually Jews) for their problems than making internal reforms. In Eastern Europe, this is becoming more and more difficult in light of the internet (people stop giving a damn about minorities and start asking why corruption continues to be such a massive problem.)

yeah but DrCordell blames the Jews too. that’s where this gets a little thorny…
