After the announcements involving TPP, I think the intent was clear to pump up his ego before the rug was pulled out from under him. He (of course) won’t see it that way, he’ll still think this trip was all about him and consider is a “success.” But the pretty obvious message being sent out is “Give this moron a few trinkets and you can rule the world while he’s gorging himself on hamburgers.”

Sadly true. Other world leaders are seasoned politicians, for the most part, with teams of experts in their ministries and cabinets. Trump is a political greenhorn with no backup team worth talking about. They’re taking full advantage of the situation.
