Trump would get to nominate a new VP, subject to approval from both Houses of Congress. Ryan/Pelosi only come into play if Pence is gone and Trump is somehow removed.

Pretty sure that’s not true. Gerald Ford, as Speaker of the House, was automatically selected to become VP when Spiro Agnew resigned as per the 25th Amendment.
