For me, the result perfectly reflected my thoughts, that leaving is probably the right choice, but only by a small margin.

However, the attitude of the EU negotiators immediately after the Brexit decision hardened my resolve that leaving is the right choice. The EU made it clear that they were going to make leaving as hard as they could for the UK to both punish it for daring to leave, and also to make it less likely that other countries would want to leave in the future.

This is absolutely the behaviour of a dominant person in an abusive relationship. “You want to leave me? I’ll make it so you regret your choice.” The future of the UK is uncertain outside the EU, but it’s still the right thing to do, imo.

Oh btw, the EU is heading for another massive financial crisis within ten years due to countries with ageing populations not being able to revalue their currency.
