Back from voting in sunny and warm Virginia.

Observations -
The Democratic recommended ballot was blue, that of the Republicans was red. Beyond the geezers who were voting Republican, (Nota bene: more of us geezers voted Democratic!) there were a number of white women in their 20’s and 30’s who were also carrying the red Republican recommend ballot. That surprised me as this is a fairly blue precinct.

The Democratic VA State House of Delegates candidate was running unopposed.

The Republican running for County Attorney had tv ad’s trying to paint himself as a Democrat. And trying to claim that his Democratic opponent did not have support of the Democratic Party. I have heard that this was a strategy used by several Virginia Republican candidates.

The attendance in early afternoon was fairly light. I did not have to wait for any of the stations.

Va ballots are fill in the bubble paper ballots and then input into the scanner. The voter is asked to input it into the scanner as a reassurance step.

I did have to mention to the guy passing out the ‘I voted’ stickers: “Where else can you tell people to take ‘em and stick ‘em?”
