It might seem pedantic of me… but space-time exists whether or not we want to believe it does.

Calendars though area really interesting, culturally. They are about dominance. This is why in some cultures calendars are set by the life of the ruler.

The Gregorian calendar is a leftover from when RC hierarchy were the big players in Europe. Even other people , such as your Jewish calendar, have to play second fiddle to it, because of cultural dominance.
