Reminds me of a joke/not-a-joke I’ve told for years.

“Women and minorities encouraged to apply. You won’t get the job, but you are certainly encouraged to apply.”

When I was in high school, I always said the reverse. College scholarships are notoriously scrupulous about finding women and minorities to select as recipients to prove their diversity. Sometimes for good reason, but it does somewhat suck to be a white guy looking for academic scholarships.
