On a general note, several have suggested that a bonus is not part of the salary but rather is an award for doing well in business. That is only partly true, most corporate executives have compensations that are complex by general salary standards and depend on some sort of a bonus struction in order to recieve what they concider fair pay. Otherwise they would work elsewhere.

I’ve no problem with that. Indeed, I believe it.

Given the financial meltdown, where, exactly, are these fine folks going to go in their field?

Or are they so all-around awesome that they command top dollar whatever they set their minds to do?
