The NAACP has done much good, but it is not without its own weaknesses. My opinion is, that this condemnation of vast swaths of the American public is more politically motivated than altruistic.
Sure there have been racist signs at teaparty functions, and it seems some white supremacists have been attaching themselves to that movement, but to brand the teaparty as racist seems a bit over the top, especially in light of the fact that there are black candidates who receive teaparty support.
I am also reminded about the adage regarding people who live in glass houses.
