Ah, well back in the days when I live in a paranoid far left world, everyone I knew thought they were being monitored by the government. I remember an acquaintance once said she was sure the FBI had a file on her because her little clique of feminists had been taping photocopies of vulvas on lampposts. My boyfriend at the time asked in a deadpan monotone, “Did you put any above Fourteenth Street?” She gave him a blank stare and he said, “I hate to tell you but no one even noticed.”
