That percentage is pretty normal for a large urban area in an odd year election. Boston has about 675K in the city proper and had about 106K votes in the mayoral runoff. Atlanta has 475K and seems to be on target for about 90K votes, which is actually better than what we had here. Of course, both of our candidates were Democrats.

That election was more or less formality. Tito wasn’t ever really in it.
