Poor reading comprehension will doom us all.

I have repeatedly mentioned Gary Shtenyngart’s novel “Super Sad True Love Story” from 2010: it describes a dystopian near-future in which the masses are functionally illiterate, they communicate almost entirely through voice and image messaging, books are no longer printed.

And the Dollar has collapsed, the only convertible currencies are the Yuan and Northern Euro.

I am afraid to re-read that book, it is becoming too much of a reality.
