It’s been reiterated over the years that the initial reports of any crime or traumatic event are usually wrong. Reporters rely on leaks from sources that are often inaccurate. It may be premature to say what her actual testimony has been; we usually see only third hand or fourth hand reports.

I have mentioned this before: my late husband had an aunt who was murdered many years ago. He gave up on the reliability of newspapers at that time because every article on the crime was riddled with errors.

Do we have any reason to believe any of the stories on this crime are accurate and reflect her actual statements to the authorities?
