We have volcanoes.

There are some in the far north of the state, that have to do with all the Cascade mountain building part of the North American formation process.

More interesting to me are the ones down south, in the east near Arizona and Nevada. They’ve not erupted lately, and they are small. There are several small volcanoes in extreme NW Mexico and southern Arizona, and I have wondered if they arose as part of the same process that is happening in south eastern California.
