I didn’t read the opinion piece because paywall, but why does J Rub think progressive policies won’t work in the real world. Conservative policies have a track record of fucking things up yet I don’t remember J Rub asking this of say Paul Ryan, conservative policy wonk extraordinaire.

That’s what gets me, Trump is showing in real time just how much of a joke that conservative foreign policy is, yet Rubin is so dedicated to her ideology that she is arguing that it’s Warren that has to prove her ideas will work “in the real world.” Since when have conservatives given a shit about the “real world” when they can instead continue to operate in a Cold War fantasy about how the rest of the “free world” is so dependent upon the might of the United States that they will always take our lead without question?
