Oh, I was under the impression that you thought Ezra Klein was being more reasonable about the health care debate then others? Or am I reading this wrong?
Ezra definitely was the voice of reason IMO on health care, in terms of chastising those on the left who were angry that it doesn’t go far enough. And he’s a policy wonk, no doubt about it, and that’s what I read him for. And like!
That being said, he is one of the up and coming younguns who are a little too connected to the beltway lovefest, as Jeff pointed out. There’s this little circuit of young bloggers/writers/journos who are all part of that little group: Yglesias, McArdle, Klein, etc.
Basically I think the odds are quite high that he’ll be a total beltway hack in ten-fifteen years, with a lot of prestige and a lot of good gigs but with little good analysis. I hope I am wrong, but he’s one of these people on the track.
