Yeah I think you’re right about that.

One of Mrs. Fish’s friends, who is a wingnut and a gun-fucker (although as a family who is heavily into hunting, at least he has a legit reason to use guns), is supporting Trump through all this bullshit. It literally comes down to guns and abortion for these people, and in their worldview, the Democrats are irredeemably tainted in those areas.
