I walked by the Paris version of Moulin Rouge last year. The neighborhood was quiet except for the tourist buses and tourist kids pouring out of the Metro. The hookers have moved over to Bois de Bologne and other, more heavily traveled areas.

They are still around the Pigalle (and, no, I don’t have first hand experience, I just know Paris well).
