I was tempted to go to Cuba in the late 90s…..great climate, beautiful women, passionate about baseball and….still using vintage American and German steam locomotives to bring in the sugar harvest each year (like the vintage automobiles, that was neccecary because of the embargo). Alot of stuff to offset my Fidel/Che loathing….

I think alot of these were on the up and up, since a tour operator in Nevada sent me some information about it. They probably had some sort of permission from the state Dept., otherwise they were basically advertising ‘Hey! Look at us! We’ll be breaking the law June 23-27!’

lots of people just take a boat up from Jamaica, spend some time and come back…none of the people I know that do this have ever even been asked for a passport or gone through customs/immigration…that’s how I would do it….a long way from the airport and to the more remote SE area
