How long until Germany says “Screw it” and declares themselves the new head of Europe?

The UK, at this point, has pretty much surrendered any claim to European leadership and Germany already has a higher GDP than the UK. And the UK’s GDP is going to contract if they leave the single market.

Germany will have to fight the French for the honor, given that Paris has been working to set itself up as a financial hub in Europe. With London now out of the picture they’re going to push for a wider role. Still, neither country is interested in the UK sticking around. Germany, France and Italy are all publicly telling the UK to GTFO and invoke Article 50 already so this doesn’t drag out any longer than possible.
