My doctor friend is huge oponent of EMR for the reasons you mentioned; too much time spent typing int he computer and too little time taking care of patients.

I’ve seen how long it takes to fill out most of these forms. Almost all are horribly designed and require tons of rework to implement the requirements the doctors send down to try and make them more usable. It has potential, but the security issues are horrific.
