It is a rude shock, and we need some reforms in the financial area that would:

1. Severly eliminate speculation in the area of any necessity: Food, shelter, clothing, energy.

2. Module-ize the financial system so that faliures and follies remain local. There is an inn in my area (California) that is closed because of a decision of a bank in Germany. There went about 25 local jobs. It has been closed for more than a year.
