Is it throttling, or is it shared usage? Since that coincides with people getting home from work, I wonder if it’s simply an increase in bandwidth consumed for their tiny little tubes.

What’s hilarious is I once tried my hand as a door-to-door salesguy for Verizon, trying to sell people on FiOS when it was still relatively new to this area. And one of the things they kept telling us to emphasize was how it was “individual,” that you weren’t sharing your bandwidth with your neighbors and how it would never slow down like Cox broadband did in the evening hours.
