re: #65 Tigger2

I think she would do fine, and I can’t fault her for supporting the Iraq war at first when I did the same thing at first.

The fact that she’s a flawed candidate because of her susceptibility to the pressure for war with Iraq is a weird-ish angle for Sanders to take to criticise her.
How many other Americans who traditionally vote Democratic *also* fell for the fearmongering?
Are they not stung when Sanders brings it up? Hindsight is what contextualises things; Obama got it right and voted against the action: but he didn’t pillory those who had.
His refusal to move for criminal charges against members of the Bush Admin. his desire to avoid ‘relitigation’ of that dark time in American history has had mixed results.

One was that those unabashed voices for war, even after the conflict went sour, were not forever chastened.
The second are those who now see the Iraq vote as a litmus test, and will never support a candidate who shared America’s anxieties.

Can you imagine an America today if Bush and Cheney had been referred to a Congressional inquest of some sort?
