The forward positioning of nuclear weapons is shrouded in some mystery, unless they are on our subs (whose locations are usually a mystery) or ships (and only a few of those.)
I have been under the impression that the US does not permanently maintain nuclear weapons on land (i.e., for distribution by the USAF) outside the US anymore save perhaps for a NATO-use stockpile.
But those would be held only in NATO countries, and I suspect only today in the UK.
I guess I find it a bit troubling to think we would still have nukes stationed in AF bases in Turkey.
