Nobody “was forced to sell the family farm” because of estate taxes.
If ever it was because of all the lead up years of “head in the sand”

I am a farmer. My farm operation is fairly high value, but nowhere near $10 million.
Still…farm bureau, extension service, and every single farm association I’ve been associated with for several decades have stressed the importance of estate planning over and over.
If you don’t make the effort, you’re just lazy and you really don’t give a rat’s ass about your farm operation and your survivors.
