Yep, because as much as we are loathe to admit it, the old hatreds and bigotries didn’t die, they just went underground. What we’re seeing now is the unearthing of a lot of noxious shit that’s been bubbling under the surface for years. The GOP just picked the absolute worst time to unearth it for all to see and get a good whiff.
