Wow, thanks for sharing Ronald Reagan’s 1964 speech about Rendezvous with Destiny & PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH! THAT was a Man and a Mensch.

(I’m reading a Christmas present of Pres. Reagan’s Diaries by Doug Brinkley).

much as i also love Reagan, bear in mind that he ran away from Lebanon, rather than facing up to Hezbollah.

it was the FRENCH - yes the FRENCH - who carried out bombing raids on Hezbollah in the aftermath of the Beirut U.S. Marine bombings…

he got bad advise admittedly though.

imagine how the world would look if Reagan ignored the advice and had a “war on islamic terror” as well as a “war on communism” back in 1982…

both were interlinked at the time - soviet arms going to syria, iran and the PLO and such like…
