That’s pretty sad. There were a few things about Bush that I liked, notably his ability to kind of keep the extreme crazies at bay. Ronald Reagan was better at it, but Bush at least gave it his best, with the mediocre results that typify his life. But at least he tried. Now, the GOP just embraces the crazy.

Bush had to keep the crazies at bay and he did. It could have turned really ugly in the days following 9/11.
