You make the compromises to GET the votes. Thats the way the bipartisan system works
That might be the case if Republican votes were actually needed to pass the bill. Republicans are in a position of weakness and complaining that they aren’t being pandered to. If Republicans want consideration they’re going to have to show a willingness to vote for the bill and take what few concessions they can get. I don’t think the Republicans are interested for 2 reasons; 1) the think it’s a bad bill 2) if they think that some of the reforms might actually help they don’t want to give Obama the victory.
I just don’t see Republicans being at all interested in any form of health care reform.
