To amplify this point a bit, there is no crazy nonsense from Cruz or Trump that is a show-stopper for the GOP establishment on policy grounds.

Their only objection to Trump and Cruz is that they think Trump or Cruz will lose a winnable general electron for the GOP.

They also don’t like that Trump promised to protect social security and medicare from cuts. The donor class really really wants to gut those programs.
