Turkey’s military is fiercely secular.

It is, and it’s deliberate - one of the Turkish military’s objectives has been the preservation of the country’s secular identity, which Erdogan has slowly eroded since coming into power.
In Israel atm and pretty much everyone is observing every tiny scrap of information coming from Ankara - especially since there are always Israeli tourists in the country.
