Curious if this has happened to anyone else…

A couple of weeks ago I left a bad review on Amazon…first time I’ve ever done that. The vendor was trying to cross-sell a man’s shoe insert to women and it is WAY too big.

The vendor contacted me from China, telling me if I would take the negative review down they’d send me a $50 Amazon GC.

Wrong woman. I can turn a $5 shoe insert into a feminist manifesto in 2.5 seconds. Don’t mess with me.

I ignored the email. My review was correct.

Anyone else ever have a vendor on Amazon try to bribe them like this?

Yup, more than once even. A little ashamed to say I figured it was easy money, both times. I know that stuff is pretty much endemic on Amazon. Used to be as bad on eBay except also with sellers threatening negative feedback for buyers - which is why there’s no such thing any more. Seems eBay has more or less managed to stamp it out, but Amazon just DGAF, apparently.
