I think about a third of the police force out here is a minority..black, hispanic, etc. I find it hard to just expect instant racism when police respond to anything out here.

I hate to be blunt, but you’re being naive.

It seems like every six months the NJ State Troopers are being sued for racial discrimination. I’m related to someone who used to be a cop, who made no bones about how he racially profiled while on the job.

There’s always horror stories coming out of Philly about how minorities are treated on the job.

And this is in the North, where we are supposedly more chill about racial relations. It’s hard to believe that given the South’s history, both recent and past, that there’s little racial disharmony on the various police agencies.
