I just saw a commercial for the new Karate Kid… I can’t quite get over how “Hollywood”-y it is now.

It is now Chinese, instead of Japanese.

I just heard Jackie Chan telling the kid: “The only way to stop them [the bullies] is to face them… I will teach you!”

That’s the exact opposite of the originals. Mr. Miyagi was completely against violence, and even refused to train Daniel when it became clear he just wanted to fight the bullies.
