President Obama looks like he’ll try Finance Reform next. This could be quite a political victory for him. Since there are Republicans who no doubt believe some sort of changes are necessary, they will be stuck with opposing Obama purely for the act of opposition.

If they do that, and Obama pulls of what looks like a political “victory”, Obama will start to look like the Alpha Male of DC.

And since, as was mentioned earlier, Americans like winners, a President Obama on a legislative winning streak would be hard for the GOP to counter.

As for the rest of us… meh. I do agree that more regulation needs to be done, especially on international finance. However, I doubt that the entire financial system can be so fine tuned as to avoid any serious problems in the future.
