My employer contracts with Caremark for prescription services, and Caremark basically discounts prescriptions ordered via mail order. So I mailed off my prescriptions a couple of weeks ago and waited. This morning, I decided to check where my evil psych drugz were at. Well, the Post Office was in the process of returning them to Caremark, because the address was incomplete. Even though my entire address, including unit number, was on the pre-printed form, the person who packaged the prescriptions left off the unit number. So my prescriptions are currently in Post Office Hell.

An hour later, and a phone call to Caremark and it boiled down to no, they couldn’t just send me another order of evil psych drugz. I would have to get another set of prescriptions and send them in to have them filled. And I would have to pay the $44 to FedEx these prescriptions overnight to San Antonio. Luckily my shrink had written a new set of prescriptions when I saw him less than two weeks ago, so this was doable. But I had to leave work early to get the order to FedEx before its shipping cutoff and then pay the $44.

Supposedly Caremark is going to call on Thursday to see how things are going, and I plan on asking them what corrective actions they plan on taking to ensure this sort of thing does not happen again. I mean, this is what I do at my day job. They should have some sort of checklist or dual custody if they can’t get an address right. *rolls eyes*
