re: #70 sattv4u2
I remember reading a magazine article in the late 80’s about a young college freshmen who went to a campus party, left with a stranger, found herself alone with him in a dorm room and was raped.
No, I do not think that she “deserved” it or was “asking for it”, but I had to ask, why did this woman think that she could put herself in such a potnetially compromising position without being aware of the risks?
The quaint and odd customs of interactions between the sexes arose as a response to such situations over the course of history. And though I do not advocate returning to the days of chaperones and petticoats, those people who put themselves in potentially compromising situations should be aware of what they are getting themselves in for.
