I’m a bit pissed about the tones of the articles I’ve seen about these excavations. The first reports in Daily Mail and Independent were in the “at last deniers will be refuted!” vein. Here we read:

But there were no doubts about the existence of the graves ever.

Is it fair to say that people weren’t sure exactly where the graves and remains were located though?

I agree that isn’t the same thing as doubting the existence of the graves.
