Why would anyone do this to another human being?

I don’t know why the subcontinent has such terrible problems with this stuff. Acid attacks, bride burning, honor killings in the Muslim,Hindu and Sikh communities…the men I’ve met from that part of the world don’t seem to hate women with a visible pathological passion, so what the hell is up?
