Except I can’t find any info on when he became deaf, or if he was born that way. The only mention is that he wears those hearing aids, nothing further.

Also, in the above quote about “Aqua Buddha”, it’s mentioned he was on the swimming team and if he ever got an infection from swimming in some infested hole, he might have gone deaf.

Also, there might be a remaining parasite residing in his brain…
