Let’s see how long it takes for the Evangelical right to figure this one out:

They’ll be thrilled.

They don’t actually want good things for Israel the modern nation, they want an Israel that looks ancient Israel in its borders that will start fulfilling prophecies. They want things to be so horrible there’s a war that drives out the Arab population. The EU, as an internationalist group, looks exactly like the kind of place they imagine the Antichrist would pop up, so they’re not expecting them to be “helpful” to Israel.

The extra weird part is that they somehow imagine as Americans that they have a role, even though there isn’t one described in their own apocalypse scenario…which is why people like Tim LaHaye had to invent one, making the USA the Poochie to The Book of Revelations Itchy and Scratchy.

Basically, nothing is going to phase them because there’s no internal consistency, and not a lot of normal human compassion. Whatever horrible shit occurs, they will see as part of their checklist of end-time events.
