Whatever his name is, the god of the Religious Right is completely fucked up. Not a God I would want to follow, for sure.

Part of that stems from the different branches of Protestant churches that either broke from the Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church, or the Church of England. Unlike those three churches, they mostly have no central body guiding them. Thus, many of them have drifted into heavily distorted or badly warped iterations of Christianity (punctuated by Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and the like).
